Welcome to visitors joining us from Hong Kong!

Westonbirt School is an award-winning co-ed independent day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 2 to 18 years, located in the Cotswolds, 90 minutes from London and Heathrow Airport. Here you will find an inspired community, set within 210 acres of parkland grounds and a breathtaking mansion. We provide a holistic education with a greenhouse, not hothouse approach, where individual talent is nurtured and success is celebrated, whether that be for the academic, sporting, musical, performance or other fields.

Senior School

In 2023, Westonbirt won ‘Co-educational Independent School of the Year’ (Independent School Parent) and was also listed in the Fortune 250 ‘World’s Leading Boarding Schools’ report.  We offer small class sizes; staff know students exceptionally well and achievements are good. A broad and flexible curriculum is on offer with the ability to tailor subject options to individuals where possible and we have a strong EAL (English as an Additional Language) department to support students in improving their English language skills.

Our school has a strong sense of community which ensures pupils feel valued and well-supported.  There is a culture of showing kindness, support and respect, with a focus on giving back through volunteering and global service trips. Leadership opportunities are also available.

Boarding (including fees and wellbeing)

Westonbirt welcomes international boarders from over 25 countries, offering a vibrant boarding community that benefits day students and boarders alike. Our six boarding houses are homely and comfortable.  They include a new Junior boarding house for Years 6-8 as well an offsite Year 13 Boarding House which gives students more independence and provides a transition to university.

Westonbirt Sixth Form

Westonbirt Sixth Form offers students a huge range of subjects and qualifications.  These include A Levels and a range of vocational courses such as BTECs, and the Leiths cookery course.  Students can tailor a bespoke programme of study to their individual skills and aspirations.

Class sizes are small and specialist teachers work extremely closely with students, getting to know pupils individually and helping them achieve their very best academically. 90% of students secure a place at their first-choice university. Recent leavers progress to study subjects including Medicine, Law, Architecture, Drama, Sports Science and Veterinary Medicine.

Senior Sport

With excellent sports facilities, Westonbirt enjoys an enviable reputation for producing highly successful individual and team performances in a wide variety of sports.  These include: swimming, lacrosse, rugby, football, golf, equestrian sports, netball, cricket and athletics. Of course, students can also enjoy sport as a more recreational pastime – the abundance of space within our grounds lend themselves to these.
