The new buildings are scheduled to open in early 2026.
We have planned the construction to minimise disruption to school operations. Safety measures and clear communication will be in place to ensure a smooth transition.
The new buildings will feature six modern, light, and spacious classrooms, a new school hall and kitchen, new play equipment, and a welcoming new entrance, all designed to enhance the learning experience and foster a sense of community.
The project includes a dedicated outdoor play area for the Reception class within the courtyard, directly accessible from the classrooms. Additionally, a barked area will replace temporary classrooms, offering further opportunities for outdoor play.
The state-of-the-art facilities are designed to provide an exceptional educational environment, interior design will follow the latest in biophilic design techniques that support both academic and social development.
We will provide regular updates through our school website, newsletters, and parent meetings to keep everyone informed about the progress of the construction.
For safety reasons, access to the construction site will be restricted, however parents are welcome to view the timelapse video diary to see the latest activity. We will be hosting a series of community events hosted in our school buildings throughout the construction.
The project incorporates sustainable design practices such as heating and hot water generation via air source heat pumps and on-site electrical generation through photovoltaic (PV) panels. The design also maximises natural light and connects classrooms with the surrounding landscape to enhance wellbeing.
The design respects the Grade 1 parkland setting and minimizes impact on existing tree Root Protection Areas (RPAs). The buildings are positioned to take advantage of key views and blend with the existing parkland setting, ensuring minimal disruption to the natural and historical environment.
The design process has involved consultations with the Local Planning Authority, Historic England, Wishford Schools, and Westonbirt Prep School. This collaborative approach has ensured that the final proposal meets contemporary needs while respecting the historical and natural setting.
