Westonbirt Sixth Form celebrates Results Day
14th August 2025
There was plenty to celebrate at Westonbirt this morning as our Sixth Form students received their results. With 63% of grades awarded at A*– B across A Level and BTEC, the Class of 2025 have achieved great success, while also embracing the widest range of qualifications in Westonbirt’s history.
From A Levels and BTECs to Extended Project Qualifications and Leiths Food & Wine, our students have thrived across a diverse curriculum designed to support individual passions and ambitions. BTEC Sport pupils achieved a remarkable 100% Distinction, while subjects including Religion, Philosophy & Ethics and History celebrated 100% of grades at A*– C.
Jonathan Travis, Deputy Head Academic, said:
“As our results show, Westonbirt’s holistic and individualised approach enables students to excel in a variety of academic subjects while developing passions, leadership skills and the confidence to pursue their aspirations.”
For many families, today is not only about celebrating grades but also reflecting on the journey their children have taken. Hannah Luddington, who joined Westonbirt in Year 7, leaves as Head Girl and a member of Study One. Her family shared:
“Westonbirt has been amazing for Hannah – it’s given her the confidence to grow and experience so many things, not just academically but through sport, music, production and leadership. The team spirit is amazing. For anyone joining, we’d encourage them to grasp every opportunity. It has so much to offer as a small but growing school – it has been amazing. Mrs Dangerfield is a legend, she powers on for everyone.”
Parents have also shared their pride in the way Westonbirt nurtures independence. Mrs Alexander Davies reflected:
“This school has really fostered my son’s independence. He’s been boarding since Year 7 and now finishes Year 13 with confidence in his own abilities. We looked at many schools across the Southwest but none could rival Westonbirt. Its ethos of being a greenhouse not a hothouse felt absolutely right for us.”
Head of Westonbirt, Natasha Dangerfield, added:
“As ever, regardless of results, I am always proud of the school as this day arrives. Every student has a story to tell, and this inevitably shows through in their final grades. Importantly, and excitingly, this is not in any sense a finality though and so today should always be celebrated as the start of a new chapter in their lives. Whether a university place or a gap year beckons, I am confident that our Class of 2025 depart with a sense of themselves and an aspiration to chart a new course.”
This year also marks a milestone, with our largest ever Sixth Form cohort. Their achievements reflect not only academic success, but also the breadth and richness of a Westonbirt education. With personalised mentoring, expert teaching, and countless opportunities for leadership, creativity and growth, our Sixth Formers leave us with experiences and memories that will inspire them for years to come.
