Musicals, drama productions and dance performances are frequently staged in the Orangery, the Great Hall or within the natural amphitheatre in the grounds and students have taken productions to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. A showcase whole-school production takes place each year and recent shows have included Secret Garden, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Lion King and an extravaganza production of Les Miserables.
Many students opt to take individual or paired Speech and Drama or Speech Improvement lessons, working towards ESB and LAMDA examinations to build both their confidence, English spoken word and performance skills. These students also have the opportunity to compete in the Mid-Somerset and Cheltenham Festivals of Speech and Drama.
