“How big would you dream if you knew you couldn’t fail?”; Nic Sestaret announced as new Director of Sport
We are delighted to announce that Nic Sestaret will be joining Westonbirt School as Director of Sport in January 2024.
A prolific sportsperson, Nic has played rugby nationally and internationally, including for the Barbarians and for his home country of France. After 13 years of playing professional rugby, Nic turned his attention to education and spent 8 years at Taunton School; first as Director of Rugby and then as Head of Athletics. The rugby department grew exponentially under Nic’s professional expertise and has resulted in two students being selected to play for England Lambs last year. Nic established a coaches’ development programme and concentrated on improving sports at Taunton School with a focus on inclusivity for all levels, and instituting a vision and ethos for sports to include respect, responsibility, enjoyment, and a strong work ethic. Most recently, Nic was also employed as Senior Coach at the University of Exeter developing a professional coaching team.
Nic is hugely committed to sports and believes that his core family values are important to how he lives and works. Married to Debbie and with four children, Nic has his hands full, but is passionate about providing opportunities for young people in sports.
We’re very excited to welcome Nic to Westonbirt School next year and look forward to seeing wonderful developments being made in our sports department. Nic left us with a thoughtful quote, one which helps him stay focused and follow his aspirations – “How big would you dream if you knew you couldn’t fail?”.
