What are the aims of the course?
A Level music develops students’ skills and understanding in performing, composing, and appraising music, building upon their existing skills and introducing new techniques. The course encourages active engagement with music, developing confidence in performance and composition, and expands musical knowledge across a variety of styles and genres. Students will learn to analyse music from well-known composers, developing their analytical and appraising skills throughout the course.
Are there any specific entry requirements?
It is expected that students wishing to study A Level music have passed Grade 5 in at least one instrument or voice and have taken GCSE music.
