What are the aims of the course?

A Level French fosters articulate, culturally aware students who can communicate with confidence and insight. The course develops fluency in speaking and builds the ability to express ideas and opinions on current social and political issues. Students learn advanced vocabulary, grammatical accuracy, and the skills required to analyse spoken and written texts. Great emphasis is also given to debating ideas and to independent research, building transferable skills valued in higher education and international careers – ideal for ambitious, globally-minded students.

Are there any specific entry requirements?

To fully participate in the course we recommend students achieve a minimum Grade 6 in GCSE French.
