Through free play, formal learning and great outdoor experiences, Westonbirt Nursery encourages creativity, curiosity, confidence and fun – as well as a lifelong love for learning and exploring. Our core programme is supplemented by a range of exciting and dynamic extra-curricular activities that are led by specialist teachers including Music, French, Games, Swimming and Forest School.
Westonbirt Nursery welcomes children from 2 years through to pre-school. The Nursery is a vibrant and positive setting where the happiness of the children is our priority. The location allows for extensive use of our wonderful outdoor space and exploring nature and the wider world is a large part of the Westonbirt experience.
Children learn primarily through play and follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum; they begin to build their understanding of numbers, sounds and language with daily sessions that build through their time with us from 2 years old to the preparation for transition to school phase. This phase focuses on giving the children an opportunity to develop independence and confidence, as well as key skills such as writing, holding cutlery, getting themselves changed and following routines and expectations.
The school aims of Curiosity, Creativity and Courage are prevalent in all that happens in Nursery and this stands children in good stead to move on in their educational journey.

Westonbirt Nursery is open to children aged 2-4 years old.
Westonbirt School's main car park is located next to Westonbirt Nursery. Dedicated drop-off bays for Westonbirt Prep and Westonbirt Nursery are also available for use in the morning and afternoon, located directly outside the nursery.
Westonbirt Nursery accept up to 15 hours’ free childcare entitlement per week for up to 38 weeks of the year. For those registered for term-time only, we offer 15 hours per week for the total weeks attended. Those registered for a year-round place will receive their free hours pro-rated over the three funding periods (1st Sept – 31st Dec; 1st Jan – 31st Mar; 1st Apr – 31st Aug). We also accept childcare vouchers to pay for nursery care.
Westonbirt Nursery is open from 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday.
Westonbirt Nursery year runs from September to August. We accept pupils for either school term time only or for the whole year. Term time only pupils may book additional ad-hoc nursery sessions during the school holidays, subject to places being available.
Westonbirt Nursery sessions are split into morning and afternoon sessions. We require a minimum attendance of 4 sessions per week to join the nursery. A maximum of 2 morning only sessions per week can be requested, subject to availability.
Westonbirt Nursery fees include all food and consumables required to support our provision. We also offer a wide range of activities during the nursery week; these are all included in the session rates where these are paid. If using free childcare entitlement, you will be asked to pay towards the cost of food and consumables, and for some activities where funding does not meet the cost.
