Westonbirt celebrates best A level results in recent years
Westonbirt students are celebrating the best set of Upper Sixth results achieved in recent years. With 52% of all grades awarded across A-Level and BTEC qualifications being A*-A or equivalent, and three quarters of all grades secured being nothing lower than a B, the class of 2026 has much to celebrate today.
These results are underpinned by Westonbirt’s commitment to excellence, and a number of academic departments have secured particularly impressive results, including Further Maths, Art, French and German where every grade awarded was an A or an A*. Our vocational courses in BTEC Sport, Performing Arts and Business were overwhelmingly graded at Distinction level or above (A grade equivalent).
We are incredibly proud of our Year 13 cohort and excited to see them pursue an exciting range of ambitious pathways. While final decisions are still being made, around 70% of those opting to study at university are joining Russell Group/Top 20 universities including Exeter, Nottingham, Bristol and Birmingham. Others are pursuing courses at elite institutions such as EHL Business School in Lausanne, the Italia Conti Performing Arts Academy, and the Pratt Institute School of Architecture in New York, or prestigious apprenticeships within Deloitte.

Dina Porovic, Head of Westonbirt School had the following to say: “I am delighted to be able to share in the joy and celebrations of our outgoing Year 13 cohort. They have worked incredibly hard and should be rightly proud of all that they have achieved. The staff have had an important part to play in their journeys, and I would like to express my gratitude for the dedication, patience and inspiration shared with our young people over the years that has led them to this moment. Importantly, beyond the data, Westonbirt’s leavers are impressive young people who will embrace all that the world has to offer with a recognisable warmth, confidence and natural authenticity that is so palpable at Westonbirt. It has been a pleasure to get to know them, and I wish every one of them happiness and fulfilment in their lives to come.”
