What are the aims of the course?
Studying Latin at A Level is a chance to understand the Roman language and literary culture in great depth, expanding upon learnings at GCSE. The course aims to develop translation skills and in particular literary analysis; examining authorial intent and rhetorical or poetic skill. There is even the chance to try Latin composition! Beyond Latin, students learn invaluable transferable skills such as extrapolating and conveying abstract material, attention to detail and critical thinking.
Are there any specific entry requirements?
You will need a Grade 7 or higher in GCSE Latin to study the subject at A Level.
