What are the aims of the course?
The BTEC Extended Certificate course is aimed at students who have a passion for sport and are looking to follow careers such as sports performance, physiotherapy, teaching, or coaching. It is a two-year course and is the equivalent to one A Level. For students who are considering a sports related degree, the BTEC Extended Certificate combines well with subjects such as biology and psychology.
Are there any specific entry requirements?
We recommend a Grade 6 or above in GCSE physical education (or biology/combined science if PE was not studied). A passion for learning about sport is important.
