What are the aims of the course?

English Literature A Level will transport students through the ages, and across the world, to hear voices that grapple with the very concept of what it means to be human in complex societies and at pivotal moments in time. This course will develop analytical, critical and literacy skills that are highly flexible and transferrable. Students are encouraged to develop a personal relationship with texts and form their own critical opinions. Fundamentally, English Literature allows students to challenge conceptions about society and humanity and it enables them to explore the fascinating relationship between art, in the wider sense, and reality itself.

Are there any specific entry requirements?
