Who Participates: Boys from Year 7 through to Year 13 as their priority game in the Autumn Term

Term(s) Offered:  Autumn Term for 12, 13 and 15 a side versions of the game and Spring Term for 15 a side County Cup U14’s and the 7 a side programme.

What’s offered: Bath Rugby 1st Team coaching clinic for the Westonbirt U15s and U16s, Alex King Wales Attack Coach (former Gloucester Coach and England International) visited the U15s, England U20’s match at Kingsholm, and Team players who study GSCE PE, can use their rugby as a Team sports for their written NEA Coursework, Part One and Part Two of their practical performance.

Facilities: Three Rugby pitches: one for U12, one for U13 and one full size pitch, Astro Turf and flood lights, and Weights & Fitness programme for the U16s & U18s.

Achievements: During the 2022/2023 Season:  U14s County Cup Plate Semi Finals, U16s Rugby Tour to USA, ISA U15s SW 7’s, ISA U18s 7’s Nationals, ISA U13s 7’s Nationals, 1 player Gloucester U16 Academy, 1 player Bath DPP U16, 2 players Bath DPP U15s programs, and 1 player Bath DPP U14 programs.

History at Westonbirt:  Rugby has been played at Westonbirt for three years, and in 2023-2024 will be played fully from Year 7 to Year 13. Westonbirt fields A and B teams where appropriate in Year 7 and 8, and an A Team in  Year’s 9, 10, 11 and Sixth Form.
