Feel the buzz of life in Reception and join us for our fun, hands-on Teddy Bears’ Adventure Stay & Play Morning at Westonbirt Prep School!
On Friday 9th October (9.30am-11am), we are holding a Stay & Play Morning for children currently aged 3 or 4 – and their parents – who are due to start school in Reception in September 2027 and are interested in joining or have already registered for Westonbirt Prep.
At Westonbirt Prep, the serious business of learning is transformed by fun, imagination and creativity. Join us for a morning of Westonbirt magic, and experience it for yourself. Get your teddy bears and wellington boots at the ready, and join us for lots of brilliant autumn-themed hands-on learning activities in our amazing Forest School – an important and inspiring part of the Westonbirt Pre-Prep curriculum.
After all that hard work and play, we invited you to relax with a coffee, while the little ones tuck in to a delicious, treat! Come along and discover what a happy and unique experience your child could have at Westonbirt Prep. We look forward to welcoming you!

We hold multiple Stay & Play sessions across the academic year, so there are plenty of opportunities for you to join us to experience the Westonbirt magic.
After our amazing Teddy Bears Adventure, why not bring your jolly little elf along for a morning of Christmas fun at our Magical Christmas Workshop! Join us for lots of fun festive-themed activities and arts and crafts, to help Father Christmas tick off his list ahead of the big day!
Then in the spring, pop along to our annual Springtastic event and join us for brilliant hands-on, spring-themed learning activities and brush up your language skills with a short parent-and-child French session, led by our talented specialist teacher, Madame Shepheard.
Registration for future Reception Stay & Play mornings will open once dates are confirmed.
Working in two small classes, every child is nurtured and supported to find their own strengths and interests, and achieve their own potential. Class sizes across Westonbirt Prep are typically 16, with Reception classes often smaller. Learning in Reception is play-based, which means that the transition from nursery to school is smooth and reassuring. A high adult-to-child ratio gives us the time and space to tailor the education to your child, discovering how they learn, and giving them the very best start to their educational journey. Our enhanced Early Years curriculum is enriched by weekly specialist teaching in French, Music, PE, Games, Forest School and Swimming, ensuring children develop key skills of curiosity and independence, while also having lots of fun!
Our Reception classes are based in our new Prep School buildings, which opened in Summer 2026 and represent a significant milestone in the school’s commitment to providing an exceptional educational environment for our pupils.
The new buildings feature six modern, light and spacious classrooms specifically designed for pre-prep year groups, a new school hall and kitchen, new play equipment and a welcoming new entrance, all designed to enhance the learning experience and foster a sense of community around a central courtyard space, surrounded by Grade 1 parkland and historic trees.
