Westonbirt School celebrates outstanding A level results
Westonbirt School, now co-ed, is extremely proud of their final all-girl cohort who has achieved 46% Grade A – A* at A level, despite the disruptions of the pandemic.
Deputy Head Academic, Simon Balderson, said;
“We are delighted with these results, arrived at through a rigorous assessment and moderation process, to ensure that they properly reflect the abilities of this high-achieving year group.
Given the disruption of the past two years, these students have shown real resilience in continuing to study effectively and produce excellent academic outcomes. As a school, we were able to quickly adapt to online learning from the very first week of lockdown, and are delighted that the hard work of students and staff has paid off.”
Highlights include 75% of students achieving A* – B in maths and chemistry, 82% of students achieving A* – B in art and 57% of students gaining A* – A in English.
The vast majority of students secured places at their first-choice university, including prestigious Russell Group institutions, studying courses ranging from Veterinary Medicine to Computer Science, Architecture to English and Drama, and much more.
