Prep Hockey
Who Participates: Pre Prep Girls and Boys, Prep School Boys and Girls
Term(s) Offered: Autumn / Spring Term
What’s offered: During our mixed Pre Prep lessons, the pupils play unihoc with the boys and girls together looking at stick skills, positioning and invasion game play. In the Prep School in Year 3 – 6, girls play hockey during their games lessons in the Autumn term and boys’ hockey in the Spring term. Westonbirt Prep competes against other independent schools each week during these terms. At the end of the Spring term, Westonbirt Prep run an internal hockey house tournament during which children can compete against other Westonbirt children whilst trying to earn points for their School House.
Facilities: A full size international standard senior hockey astroturf.
Achievements: Prep School U11 Boys hockey team competes in the ISA National Tournament in London each year at the Lea Valley Olympic Park.
