As part of National Careers Week, three of our Year 12 Business Studies students put together an inspiring Careers Day for the rest of the school as part of their A level coursework. The event, held on Thursday 10th March, was designed to inspire our young people about the world of work and the many possibilities awaiting their future.
Megan in Year 12 was part of the trio who set up the event and helped find inspirational speakers to present to her fellow students at the event. She said of her involvement;
“I really enjoyed setting up this year’s careers day. I particularly enjoyed discussing with my peers the kind of careers they would like to learn more about and finding speakers that could deliver these messages.”
Speakers covered a large range of sectors including media, music, law, AI, event management, international business, acting, finance and technology and offered fascinating insights, hints and tips for Westonbirt students. Many of the visiting speakers were parents of current pupils and students and staff were extremely grateful to our supportive school community. Megan concluded;
“The careers event was an extremely helpful way for students to learn more about the career paths we are interested in following, while also opening our minds to new and exciting possibilities. It was also great experience being involved with the set-up of the event.”
