Over half term, three students from Westonbirt took part in the British Schools Pistol Shooting Championships. This was organised by the Beaufort Hunt Pony Club for its tetrathlon team members who shoot regularly at Westonbirt as part of their training. The team was made up of Arthur from the Prep school, Tabitha in Year 7 and Zara in Year 12. Competitors had to shoot 10 meters from the targets which, although static, were very small. Tabitha, having arrived on time by the skin of her teeth, achieved the fantastic joint top score of all BHPC members. Zara, who took up shooting this summer was also very pleased with her score and we are still awaiting confirmation of Arthur's result. Scores go forward to the BSS for verification and we now wait to see if we have made it to the second round. This national competition is a first for Westonbirt and an exciting sign of things to come!
