Internet safety, bullying and sexting. All important topics that PC Leah Davis, our local Cotswold Schoolbeat Officer, covered with our students yesterday as part of their personal, social and health education. The morning started with Year 6 students learning about internet safety, followed by bullying and sexting lessons for students across Years 7 to 9.
A Schoolbeat Officer's primary role is to build trusting relationships with children from Year 6 through to Year 11. By delivering 500 hours of educative inputs per school year this helps not only increase students' awareness but also helps to facilitate timely and effective information sharing between police and schools aimed to prevent and intervene with any problems that may arise.
