On Saturday, Westonbirt sixth former Anya and Headmistress, Mrs Natasha Dangerfield, were delighted to be invited to dinner with the Gloucestershire Cambridge Society. The black tie supper offered a wonderful opportunity for Anya to talk to a number of guests from the prestigious university who, as she, have the experience of waiting on results of testing for a potential interview to study at Pembroke College, Cambridge in September.
Mrs Dangerfield said of the evening;
"Our host, Stephen Aiano, was delightful and it was an honour to represent the school and to find we were seated at the top table. Our guest speaker for the night was Westonbirt and Cambridge alumni, Professor Dame Madeleine Atkins, now President of Lucy Cavendish College.
As respected academic, passionate about education, Professor Madeleine Atkins CBE, was fantastic company and keen to hear of the changes at her alma mater, as Lucy Cavendish, traditionally an all female college of Cambridge University, also prepares to take male applications for 2020.
Madeleine was pleased to visit Westonbirt as the school celebrated its 90th Birthday last year and we are delighted that she will join us again, in the summer, for the 90th celebrations of the Westonbirt Association."
