As part of Westonbirt's move to co-education, we had our first boys' taster day earlier this week.
Seventeen prospective boys came to Westonbirt for a fantastic day of fun and friendship building and many more were unable to attend the day. The boys all took part in quad biking, Wacky Races and designing and building cars in our DT lab. Quad biking was a huge hit with the boys. It was a wet and foggy morning as the quad bikes zoomed around achieving speeds of up to 35KM/H. Despite not having an engine, the Wacky Racer car also went pretty quickly down the hills with all the boys working together to push the car in order to generate speed.
The second part of the morning was spent in our DT lab designing and building mini wacky racer cars using wood, elastic bands and discs.
The boys then went for lunch which, for many, may have been the highlight of the day and the apple crumble certainly went down well!
After lunch, they finished off their models before heading over for afternoon tea in the Great Hall with Mrs Dangerfield and their parents. Finally, there was a race involving the cars that had been designed and built earlier in the day.
We hope the boys enjoyed their day and we look forward to welcoming them in September. If you would like to hear more about Westonbirt as a prospective parent, please contact our Admissions team on firstname.lastname@example.org.
